"Vita Iter," which is Latin for " Life's Journey," was written on the occasion of Zwannie and Frits Werkman's 40th wedding anniversary. The composition is based on Psalm 121, a psalm of special significance to them. The melody and motifs of the psalm appear in different shapes, such as energetic and smooth gestures and also in a more solemn setting, reflecting the theme "Life's Journey. Also, long (bourdon) tones are heard played around by warm harmonies, as a metaphor for something timeless/ eternal and everlasting. In the middle section, psalm 121 (optional) is heard in its original form.
