IntroMotion

IntroMotion is a short and sparkling work, suitable as an opening work (introduction) or energetic interlude during a concert. The work begins in motional and dialogue form, with different instrument groups alternating with short virtuoso melodies. The maestoso (grand) middle section contains a round and warm band sound that develops in a colorful way to a smaller instrument group, focusing on the dialogue between two solo instruments. The final section combines short agitated phrases in dialogue form, a melodious musical line and round warm sounds. These ingredients are used to create a buildup towards an energetic and flashy finale. IntroMotion is dedicated to C.M.V. Concordia Drachten, who were awarded a commission following their victory at the Open Dutch Fanfare Championships (ONFK) 2024.
