Minnertsga – The village of Minnertsga will commemorate on October 10, 11, and 12 that the community has lived in freedom for 80 years. In collaboration with Minnertsga Vroeger, a special program has been put together in which remembrance, celebration, and culture take center stage.
The commemorative weekend includes, among other things, a photo exhibition featuring striking images from the war years and the liberation. In addition, there will be the Frijheidskonsert, where music will be interwoven with personal stories from villagers about the wartime period. During this concert, the premiere of the composition Triumph of Liberty, written by Arend Gerds, will also take place. The work is inspired by local stories and the history of Minnertsga itself in relation to 80 years of freedom. As such, the composition forms a tribute to the experiences and memories that still live on in the village and within the community association.
The activities will take place at various locations throughout the village. More information and ticket details can be found via the official Facebook event page.
