Adamas was written in honor of Henk Buist’s 60-year membership with Fanfare Excelsior in Baflo. The composition is based on Psalm 150, Henk Buist’s favorite psalm. Adamas is an original term for diamond and means “invincible” in Ancient Greek. It refers both to Henk Buist’s diamond jubilee and his deep connection with Excelsior.
